Discover Karamba and the surrounding village of Fanghotte through a full-day cultural and ecological immersion. Our ethical and sustainable tours are led by certified local guides and offer a true window into life, farming, and post-conflict rebuilding in southern Senegal.

1. Visit the Karamba Farm

Walk through our thriving 1.5-hectare agroecological farm. Learn about Diola permaculture practices, organic cultivation, and how we build food sovereignty in rural Senegal. You’ll also get the chance to join in on farming activities — from planting to composting — and see where your food comes from.

2. Tour the Women's Juice Collective

Stop by a local juice production project led by women entrepreneurs in the community. You’ll taste fresh, seasonal juices made from locally grown fruits like bissap, baobab, and ginger — while supporting economic empowerment for women in the region.

3. Visit Fanghotte Village & Solidarity School

Explore Fanghotte, a village deeply affected by the Casamance conflict and now rebuilding through community-driven projects. Visit the reconstructed solidarity school and learn about our role in restoring access to education and infrastructure.

4. Mangrove Boat Tour

Glide through lush mangrove forests and rice paddies on a traditional fishing boat. Along the way, you’ll hear stories about local farming history, ecology, and the ancestral relationship between land and water in this biodiverse region.

5. Cook and Share a Farm Lunch

Harvest ingredients, help cook a local meal, and sit down with our team to share in community life. Meals are plant-forward, seasonal, and sourced from the farm itself whenever possible.

How Your Tour Supports Our Work

When you book a tour with Karamba, you become a partner in a larger mission.

Your contribution helps us advance three key goals:

Support Community Infrastructure

Tour proceeds fund the reconstruction of essential village services — including our solidarity school, clean water access, and community meeting spaces.

Promote Agricultural Sustainability

Your visit directly supports our model of agroecology, helping us expand composting, irrigation, and seed-saving systems that build long-term food security.

Empower Women and Youth

We use tourism income to train and employ women and young adults in farming, hospitality, and local enterprise — creating dignified jobs and reducing rural exodus.
