Our Story

Growing Hope in Casamance

Our Mission

Founded in 2016 by Bourama Sané, Karamba Agriculture Farm was born from a vision to build local opportunity and resilience.

After completing his master’s degree in international cooperation and local development, Bourama returned to his father's land in Fanghotte with a mission: to show his community that prosperity didn’t require migration to Dakar or Europe — it could be cultivated right here at home.

What began with a bicycle, buckets of water, and a few trees has grown into a farm that now trains and employs locals, hosts international volunteers, and invests in educational outreach.

Karamba aims to strengthen the region’s food self-sufficiency, expand agroecological practices, and empower women and youth through skill-building, jobs, and community projects.
